Carmel College is a Roman Catholic sixth form based in the North West of England, established in 1987. It welcomes students from all faiths and backgrounds. The college has a long record of Outstanding Ofsted ratings and sends a strong cohort of students to Russell Group universities each year, including Oxford and Cambridge. As a leading sixth-form college, Carmel recognises the value of working with a specialist sixth-form college design agency to shape its visual identity.
The curriculum spans A Levels and vocational routes. Carmel’s combination of strong results, pastoral support, and modern facilities makes it one of the more credible sixth forms in the region for post-16 students who want options.
In 2023, Carmel College went to market to find a design agency to work alongside its in-house marketing team as a long-term creative partner. Following a competitive pitch, 52 Degrees North was selected, reflecting our reputation as a design agency for sixth-form colleges.
The initial brief was clear: refresh the college’s marketing materials for the new academic year. Modernise the look. Make it feel right for the audience. The scope was broad from day one. As a result, choosing a sixth-form college design agency was essential to Carmel’s brand consistency.
We designed a new prospectus, developed social media campaigns, produced event materials, digital billboards, and large-scale out-of-home advertising. We also created wall graphics, presentations, newsletters, brochures, and photography. Every piece was designed to work as part of a whole. Not a collection of one-off jobs. A consistent visual identity across every channel and format.
The partnership is ongoing. New briefs are in progress, and the relationship continues to grow.
